In this informative and practical course, you’ll build on your knowledge and experience in the five core sectors of Green Industries—agricultural, forestry, floristry, horticultural, and landscaping. As you investigate each of the sectors in depth, you’ll explore instructional strategies, industry practices, safety, environmental sustainability, and approaches for fostering an inclusive learning environment. You’ll leave the course prepared to design and teach your own Green Industries program, with invaluable resources, unit plans, activities and assessment strategies.

Requirements

Application Requirements

1) OCT MEMBERSHIP

We will use the OCT number you provide during online registration to confirm you are an OCT member.

2) WORK EXPERIENCE LETTERS (not required if you already have Technological Education qualifications)

If this is your first Technological ABQ you must submit letters of experience on company letterhead confirming at least 5 years* of full-time wage-earning experience (teaching, training or managing experience can not be considered as acceptable experience) OR at least 2 years* of full-time wage-earning experience AND successful completion of a 3 year post-secondary education program in Green Industries.

- Farming
- Fish hatchery
- Floristry/gardening/botany
- Forestry
- Greenhouse
- Landscaping & design
- Sawmill
- Surveying
- Veterinarian
- Use of GPS equipment

*One year of work experience can be interpreted as 1,700 hours of work experience.

**If you were self-employed you must submit a sworn affidavit, a business license, proof of income and a letter from a major supplier/customer to confirm your 5 years of work experience.
