The Senior Geography Additional Basic Qualification course focuses on the Grades 11/12 optional courses in Geography.
In the context of this online course, you will work with ideas, descriptions of practices, and with accounts of experiences. You will assess these ideas, practices and experiences in the light of your own experiences as it relates to the Geography classroom. You will have the opportunity to plan the practical contexts in which you can apply and more fully understand the ideas you explore in this course. This work can be seen as setting the stage and preparing the ground for reflection-in-action that may occur when investigating challenges specific to the Geography classroom.

What You'll Do

In the Reflection part of the course, you will be asked to apply your learning to two separate Course Culminating Activities.

1. Design a Unit: You will create an entire unit, focusing on expectations and goals, resources, strategies, accommodations and modifications, formative and summative assessment, and culminating activities and rubrics. This is a key feature of the course.
2. Construct an Action Plan: You will reflect on your learning in the course and plan what you’ll do with the new learning in your practice.
