Welcome to Continuing Teacher Education ABQ course Senior Biology. The emphasis in this course is on the development of student-centered teaching strategies for teaching and learning in Senior Biology courses. The course is designed to promote strategies that support students' conceptual development and enduring understandings.

Course Learning Expectations

In this course you will have the opportunity to:

• inquire into practice through reflection, active engagement, and collaboration with colleagues and the instructor
• explore and implement curriculum expectations of the Ontario Ministry of Education
• assess and integrate teaching and learning strategies for student learning in Senior Biology
• develop foundations to design curriculum for Senior Biology
• create learning environments conducive to the development of the Senior division student in learning about science and biology
• assess and implement resources to enhance the teaching and learning in Senior Biology
• apply strategies to enhance the school community, including parents, students, colleagues, staff, and the community
• analyze and develop responses to issues and innovations in the teaching and learning of Senior Biology

2) YOUR ORIGINAL UNDERGRADUATE/GRADUATE UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPT(S)*

Your transcript(s) must show:

The equivalent of 3.0 full-year undergraduate/graduate courses in Biology/Biochemistry or the equivalent of 2.0 full-year undergraduate/graduate courses if you already hold another senior qualification.

*If you completed a Queen's undergrad (at any time), or a B.Ed., Honour Specialist, or an Intermediate or Senior ABQ course with us within the last 4 years you are not required to resend your transcripts.
