Inquiry Learning is a focus in BC’s newly redesigned curriculum. This model provides endless opportunities for Teacher Librarians to spearhead inquiry based learning activities through the school library program.

The Understanding by Design framework, a driving force in the new BC curriculum provides the inspiration to guide teachers through the exploration of inquiry-driven learning. Investigating inquiry based -learning will foster opportunities to explore a variety of resources in support of this model of learning and consider how the contexts and applications increase student interest and understanding.

The Teaching through Inquiry course creates opportunities to:
• Build an understanding of the Teacher Librarian and School Library Program’s role in supporting Inquiry Based Learning
• Familiarize with many resources in support of inquiry based learning
• Complete practical assignments, designed with future use applications in mind
• Participate in discussions about BC’s new curriculum, the Understanding by Design framework and Inquiry Based Learning
