What does it mean to have a global mindset? What are the roles and responsibilities of global citizens? How can we teach students about global concepts in relevant ways and take meaningful action?
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by 193 United Nations member states in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure the peace and prosperity of all people. This course will explore the global framework centred on the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) and their related targets and actions. You will learn the SDGs and how progress toward meeting these goals can be measured. You will also consider how they can be used to explore global concepts in your teaching and learning contexts.
In this course, you will have opportunities to collaborate with course colleagues to learn about and develop pedagogical strategies to incorporate the SDGs through a concept-based inquiry approach.
