What does it mean to co-create an inclusive Kindergarten classroom environment that is responsive to all learners and allows for students, families and teachers to be their authentic selves? What teaching methods and Indigenous pedagogies lead to strong relationships and a deeper exploration of the Kindergarten curriculum? How can we share the learning experiences in a visible way to engage families in the exploration of identity and community?
This course offers opportunities to examine different teaching pedagogies and evidence-based approaches as support in daily classroom routines and structures of an inclusive and compassionate Kindergarten classroom environment. Participants will have opportunities to collaborate with course colleagues to examine the BC curriculum, the Early Learning Framework and a variety of Indigenous pedagogies, as a way of engaging all learners in authentic manner.
Course participants will actively engage in creating a toolkit with new strategies, teaching methods and pedagogical approaches.
