Do you want to know more about ELLs to improve the instruction and support they receive to meet their academic and social requirements?
In British Columbia, ELLs must meet specific language standards. In this course, you’ll learn ways to work with these standards concurrently with the BC curriculum. The course examines ELL language pedagogy, explores language skill development, considers processes and frameworks, strategies and supports, and reviews equitable classroom practices. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to offer supportive learning environments for ELLs and all learners.

1) Courses and Post-Graduate Certificates are approved by TQS for Category Upgrade. If you would like these courses to be used towards Category Upgrading, you must have a valid BC Teacher Certificate.
ECEs, EAs, and other education professionals are welcome to take the courses without Certification.
2) Completion of English Language Learners Part 1.
*Teaching Experience is not required but it is advised that candidates gain some experience before completing the second and specialist courses. There are many opportunities to gain experience through volunteer work and community based programs.
