What does it mean to lead with empathy? How will you foster a supportive environment while addressing your community's diverse needs and aspirations? How can you develop and communicate a clear vision that inspires collective action and results in transformative outcomes?

Educational leadership extends beyond a school's day-to-day operations. It's about cultivating empathy and transforming educational communities. In this course, you’ll explore the foundation of educational leadership and understand your community's diverse needs and aspirations. You will consider leadership theories and practical applications, developing the skills to articulate inclusive visions, foster trust, and effectively communicate with stakeholders.

You’ll collaborate with colleagues to develop leadership strategies that reflect empathetic leadership, strategic change management, and innovation. You’ll reflect on your values and use your new knowledge to drive transformative leadership in your educational community. Join us on this journey of growth, collaboration, and impactful leadership.

What You Will Learn and Do

In this course, you’ll have the opportunity to

• learn about the diverse needs and aspirations within your educational community to foster a supportive and inclusive environment
• develop and articulate a clear, inclusive vision that aligns with your community's values and goals, inspiring collective action
• integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) principles into educational leadership, creating policies and practices that ensure everyone feels valued
• employ strategies for leading through change, engaging stakeholders, and maintaining clear communication
• apply leadership theories and practices in real-world scenarios, enhancing your capacity to navigate complexities and lead your community toward achieving educational goals
• embrace innovation and adaptability by evaluating the effectiveness of changes and incorporating feedback to keep leadership practices relevant

Application Requirements

Courses and Post-Graduate Certificates are approved by TQS for Category Upgrade. If you would like these courses to be used towards Category Upgrading, you must have a valid BC Teacher Certificate.

ECEs, EAs, and other education professionals are welcome to take the courses without Certification.

Refund Schedule

If you drop a course:

1. by the midpoint of the course, you will receive 100% of your course fee.
2. after the midpoint, before the end of the course, you will receive 50% of your course fee.
