Life’s unpredictability requires students to develop strategies to manage adversity. The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) course provides stress management strategies that can benefit you (as an educator) in an ever-changing professional landscape. SEL helps students develop lifelong skills to foster personal wellness, self-regulation, positive relationships, improved focus, and stress management. Problem behaviours dissipate as SEL is set. Students learn real-world skills necessary to be productive citizens. Partnerships between students, staff, families, and community members are strengthened by using a systematic SEL program.
You will develop a long-range SEL plan in this course to increase students’ knowledge, skills, and values. Every student has the right to an equitable, safe, inclusive school experience. Research-based SEL programming supports trusting and collaborative relationships while fostering social justice.
