It’s time to investigate how an effective teacher librarian leader can transform a school community. By assuming a leadership position, it is possible to support knowledge building, promote a current educational practice, and encourage a participatory learning culture in the library learning commons (LLCs) and beyond! In this course, you’ll explore how building positive relationships with teaching colleagues and administration encourages essential collaborative practice-the key to shepherding instructional change, embracing new technologies, and promoting student learning.

Be prepared to shift to a “yes” culture, where the teacher librarian demonstrates the qualities of a self-directed learner, seeks out new approaches, identifies instructional and resource needs, and offers innovative alternatives to support the learning of all community members. Your coursework will contribute to a final project expressing your philosophy about teacher librarianship and providing a strategic blueprint for future implementation.
