This course provides you with opportunities to develop an understanding of the five critical areas of business: financial literacy, business ethics and corporate social responsibility, business, and entrepreneurial skills, business communications and digital literacy. You’ll also apply transferable skills and 21st century competencies in your Business Studies classroom. Issues pertaining to equity and inclusion, learner well-being, barrier-free learning and digital literacy will be explored. Teaching strategies such as experiential and project-based learning and universal design for learning (UDL), will be explored using education technology tools. Ministry policy documents and the OCT Standards of Practice and Ethical Guidelines will be thoroughly analyzed to guide your decision making.

Your transcript(s) must show: The equivalent of 3.0 full-year undergraduate/graduate courses in Business or the equivalent of 2.0 full-year undergraduate/graduate courses if you already hold another intermediate qualification. For Intermediate Business, courses in Commerce, Economics, Human Resources, Marketing, Management, etc. are accepted.
*If you completed a Queen's undergrad (at any time), or a B.Ed., Honour Specialist, or an Intermediate or Senior ABQ course with us within the last 4 years you are not required to resend your transcripts.
