Enhance your ability to teach history to students in the Intermediate Division by deepening your understanding of curriculum, pedagogy, and inclusive practices. In this course, you’ll explore historical thinking concepts and inquiry-based learning, allowing you to create engaging lessons that reflect diverse voices and lived experiences, including those of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit perspectives. You’ll learn how to foster equity and inclusion in your classroom through trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive approaches. You’ll also learn to assess student learning using strategies that honour individual strengths and needs.
This course is grounded in real-life teaching, encouraging reflection, collaboration, and practical application. You’ll work with Ontario’s curriculum and policies and leave the course with tools, strategies, and inspiration to support your students and your professional growth in the history classroom.

*If you completed a Queen's undergrad (at any time), or a B.Ed., Honour Specialist, or an Intermediate or Senior ABQ course with us within the last 4 years you are not required to resend your transcripts.
